Step into a rare piece of Delaware history at 221 Thomas Davis Drive, where timeless craftsmanship, preserved character, and everyday comfort come together on over 2 acres of private, scenic land. Originally built in the late 1700s and nestled within Plantation Crossing, this historic brick Colonial offers a unique opportunity to own a home that has stood the test of time while thoughtfully supporting modern living. Set on approximately 2.3 acres, the property provides a peaceful, open setting with mature surroundings, all while remaining conveniently located near shopping, dining, and major routes. Inside, the home offers approximately 2,884 square feet of living space featuring 3 spacious bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a flexible bonus room ideal for a home office or guest space. The main level welcomes you with a formal sitting room rich in character, flowing naturally into a light-filled dining area just off the kitchen—creating an inviting space for both everyday living and meaningful gatherings. A sunroom adds additional living space filled with natural light and offers a unique opportunity for customization, with architectural features that lend themselves to a potential hidden or bookcase-style entry. A conveniently located half bathroom on the first floor adds to the home’s functionality. The kitchen offers a bright and functional layout with ample cabinetry, natural light, and an inviting eat-in area enhanced by a cozy fireplace and custom built-ins. Throughout the home, original details tell the story of its history, including wide-plank hardwood flooring, exposed wood beams, and three fireplaces designed for both gas and wood burning—features that bring warmth and authenticity while supporting today’s lifestyle. Upstairs, the home continues with three generously sized bedrooms and a versatile upper-level room—perfect for a home office, guest space, or additional living area. The primary suite offers a unique and functional layout, featuring direct access to the kitchen, an attached bath with in-suite laundry, and an adjoining flex space ideal for a private office or sitting area. Two full bathrooms provide both comfort and character, including a standout retreat with a soaking tub set against an exposed brick wall and serene views overlooking the property—an ideal place to unwind at the end of the day. Storage throughout the home exceeds expectations for a property of this era, and the walk-up attic offers even more flexibility for storage or the potential to create additional finished space. Adding to the home’s character and functionality, multiple staircases connect the various levels, reflecting its historic design and offering a unique sense of flow throughout the home. The lower level includes a cellar with multiple access points, along with a partially finished basement currently used as a wine cellar and game room, plus additional space for storage and mechanicals. Outdoor living is just as inviting, with a charming side porch and entry that naturally becomes part of your daily routine—an ideal place to start your morning or unwind in the evening while taking in the peaceful surroundings. The expansive grounds offer endless opportunities for outdoor enjoyment, complemented by mature landscape, open space, a detached two-car garage, and an extended driveway for ample parking. For those drawn to homes with history, character, and a true sense of place, 221 Thomas Davis Drive offers a rare opportunity to own something truly special—where the past is preserved and the next chapter is yours to write. Homes like this rarely come to market, offering a sense of history and character that is increasingly hard to find.
